I used to go here as a kid, 2009-2014. Honestly, 2009-2014 were the best years of my life, and the best times in general. My time at this school was so nostalgic.
Sishya is a very well funded school; they’ve got a nice canteen (how’s Rajesh doing btw?), a sizeable amount of classrooms and good grounds, and many events.
School camp 2013 is one of those things I’ll never forget; watching Despicable Me 2 and Chennai Express on a big screen when they first came out.
They used to have a book fair, a fete, an annual dance that the kids used to prepare for (we used to love skipping classes for that) and some nice theatre productions. Eh, maybe I’m just taking away the kiddy stuff from there because I was a kid when I used to go there.
Anyway, so the teachers were strict (watch out!). If you misbehave, they send you out of class. Sometimes they yell at you. And I don’t know if that was the norm in India. I’m pretty sure it was; may still be.
A lot of the people that used to go and still go to this school are filthy rich (we had occasional visits from Thalapathi and other famous people like Prakash Raj and all that). People used to queue up for autographs and stuff.
Anyway, enough of my rant. Sishya was my childhood.

My daughter studied Class XI and XII in the Humanities stream. The best life-changing experience. Thanks to the High Quality Management and Staff. Students are treated with respect. The teaching methods are wholesome kindling their intellectual curiosity and love for life-long learning. The heritage feel of the school I felt as a parents is memorable. Well-defined academic calendar and planned events. Every event was relevant and was highly inspiring and elevating. Everything was planned and nothing ad hoc. Staff and students left school by 3pm. No unnecessary staying back. Only open house on just two Saturdays in the whole year. Neat 5 days working. A small canteen. Good playground. Reasonable fees. Contrary to the popular assumption, the school caters to middle class as well. There is both diversity and inclusion in the classrooms. Parents are well-informed and no scope for panic. My son is currently in grade 2 and we had a fantastic experience with the school in the previous academic year. All the teachers are very supportive, caring and make sure each and every kid is attended to. As parents, we could see a lot of difference in our child before and after he joined Athena. His language skills improved tremendously and he became very confident. Special mention to Krithiga mam( class teacher) who spent lot of time with us to understand our child and gave him the space and opportunity he needed and moulded him very nicely and secondly Poorna mam(maths teacher) who took tremendous effort in making sure kids understand all the concepts before moving to the next topic. It was very much evident from the way he loved to do maths homework on his own. I would also like to thank Swetha mam, hindi mam, ICT mam for making the subjects very easy and interesting for him and also PE sir for his sports classes. Apart from academics, yoga and physical education is also given lot of importance. The annual day function was fabulous. All the kids were awarded based on their talent which usually does not happen in other schools. And the kids performances were superb that shows how much effort the teachers had put in to make it a grand success.
This is definitely one of the best IGCSE schools out there .We are extremely happy to have chosen this school for our son and he simply loves and enjoys going to school.

Our personal experience with Athena global school so far has been fantastic with lots of positive vibrations seen in my child. The best thing about the school is their lovely teachers who has the ability to create a close bond with the kids and bring the best out of them. My son keeps jumping when he thinks about the school and that’s purely the success of the teachers contribution. A very special thanks to beloved maths teacher Poorna mam for her wonderful teaching skills and perseverance in adopting new techniques to bring the best out of the kids.

This is the best school i had ever found while am looking for my kid, i just went for enquiry and the way Krithika Mam explained and shown me each and every classroom and detail explanation made me to opt this school and the way they support is great and no bad side for this school, and their support and online classes are well planned and even in cases of delay or postpone requested it’s full filled with extra care by class teacher Swetha Mam,Poorna Mam and Uthara Mam for my kid, and other teachers also supported great even sacrifing their lunch periods and the effort they kept is very great feeling for every parent, and recently due to health issues my kid didnot attend school last six months, here comes the biggest difference not like any other school, they had taken extra care for kid investing their lunch time and waiting for one hour or more even after school time ,teachers had given mind blowing support even after school giving their personal time for the child’s bright future, so I strongly recommend this school and can join with out any hesitation, if you talk to the principal Josephine Mam you will definitely know about the school. A place that is safe for kids both physically and psychologically. Every kid is given at most attention and the teachers focus on the individual kids development needs. Continuously motivates and encourages them. All the high decibel events have been well organised and the kids were very well recognised for their talents. The weekly updates to the parents kept us intact with the happenings at school. We were well informed about all the activities the children do and it gives us more confidence in their development. Communication is one key differiciator and bigs kudos to the entire team. The school is open and transperant enough which makes us feel comfortable to discuss about the child’s progress. As a parent I had great experience and my son Jeshwanth really learnt a lot with lot of fun. I think they groom the child socially responsible by involving them in social events like road safety, nursery visits, support the needy people, that’s truly inspiring. Even when he had to take a break for 3weeks during his fracture, there were sessions organised virtually exclusively for him, so he doesn’t miss his classes. I am writing to express my appreciation for the positive experience my son is having in Pre KG at Velammal global school. I would like to highlight a few aspects that have impressed me so far:
Digital App Integration: the velammal digital app is a fantastic initiative. It provides parents like me the opportunity to stay informed about my child’s daily activities and learning progress through engaging visual content such as pictures. This transparency and communication are highly valuable to me as a parent.
Dedicated Staff: I would like to commend my son’s class teachers Ms.Zepporah and Mrs.Sreelakshmi for their warm and welcoming approach. Their genuine care and connection with my son, have truly made a positive impact. It brings me immense joy to witness how well my toddler has settled within a span of 2 weeks of joining the school, thanks to the support and encouragement provided by these dedicated educators.
Engaging Activities: I am delighted to see the thoughtfully planned activities for the kids and how engaged they are. Also events like red day celebrations are good initiatives. It is heartwarming to observe my child actively participating and learning through such interactive and stimulating experiences.
Uniform Selection: The choice of uniform is excellent. The color and material selected are not only visually appealing but also practical in terms of maintenance. I appreciate how easy it is to care for the uniform while ensuring that my child feels comfortable throughout the day.
Caretakers and Security: I also want to express my gratitude to the caretakers and security personnel at the school who are humble, dedicated, and doing an excellent job of taking care of the children. Hi, I am the father of Sheril Mithra.M, who is in Grade 2-C. Last year (September 2023), we decided to switch our kid from LKG(CBSE), the reason being his previous school’s teaching approach was more books oriented and focus on extra curricular activities were comparatively less. Due to this approach, there were very little chances given to the kids to exhibit their creative side.
So, we started exploring multiple schools(CBSE, ICSE, IGCSE) till November 2023 and finally chose VGSP. To start with, we had a lot of questions on the curriculum (IGCSE), teaching approach and how the school’s environment will help our kid to easily adapt. The Principal, Ms.Sripriya Mam, answered all our questions patiently and even gave us a chance to talk to few of their students in person. This really gave us the confidence that our kid will have a nourishing environment where he can learn, have fun and grow.
Today it’s been a month since our kid started in KG2 and we are really happy that we have made the right decision. Witnessing our kid going to school happy and excited right from the first week shows the kind of positive environment the school creates. The opportunities and recognitions he receives from his class teacher, Ms.Suganya mam is a testimony for itself.
